Spring Redd Up - Save the Date
Are you ready for spring? Do you know anyone who is not ready for spring? Unfortunately when the snow recedes, the litter surfaces. Join other like-minded citizens in beautifying Pittsburgh: the annual spring Redd Up for Pittsburgh neighborhoods will be the weekend of April 15, 16 and 17. The first day, Friday, is Stash the Trash for Pittsburgh schools. We urge participation of public and parochial schools for this event when students clean up around their campuses. The big day is Saturday.
Neighborhoods in district 4 signed up for the Redd Up are Beechview, Bon Air, Brookline, Carrick, Mt. Washington, and the Fairhaven section of Overbrook.
More information about times and locations will be posted on http://www.citizensagainstlitter.org. If your neighborhood isn't listed here, feel free to sign yours up on the web site!
We love the Redd Up, but as Boris Weinstein, head of the Clean Pittsburgh Commission says, "People who care about clean neighborhoods must pick up for the people who litter and don't care. Picking up litter must be done regularly. Once or twice a year doesn't cut it." Don't be a passive litterbug, when you see litter, pick it up!
See yinz on the street or at the Redd Up!
