Carrick Foodland – your friendly neighborhood grocer

Sometimes we see shopping carts scattered about here or there, from the Foodland on Brownsville Road. The best thing to do is call the Foodland at 412-881-4447 to report the location. Give them the address nearest where the shopping cart is located. They go out to gather them up every week or so, but if someone calls in a stray cart, they usually pick it up within a day. The manager mentioned that he appreciates neighbors’ help in getting them back, because that helps him keep costs down. He said he does everything he can to keep costs down, because that keeps the prices down, and he wants to keep prices down because he appreciates every single customer. The manager also mentioned that he will try to find specialty items if a customer requests them. For example, they stopped carrying Fels-Naptha soap at one point – it’s a laundry soap that some folks use for poison ivy. Well, he got enough requests that they carry it all the time again. So the next time you can’t find what you’re looking for at the Foodland at 1119 Brownsville Road, just ask!
